My profession today
2017 marks my twentieth year as a violin maker. I make violins, violas, cellos and double basses. I also do in-strument repair, restoration and appraisals. My passion for classical music and my keen interest in bowed string instruments have led me to explore ways of improving the acoustics and workmanship of my produc-tion. I am proud to say that the art of violin making in Cremona was included in the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage on 5 December 2012. Thus, Unesco recognised the value of Cremonese violin making both in terms of its tradition and know-how. I am a part of this artisanal tradition that makes musical instruments recognised and appreciated throughout the world. Over the years, my field of specialization has developed to include an-tiquing and making copies of antique instruments, comprising violins, violas and cellos. Although these works are inspired by the great Cremonese makers, they are the fruits of my labour and therefore reflect my unique style and personality.
